What kind of wax do you use in OKIO candles?
OKIO candles are made from GMOs-free 100% natural soy wax, which is an awesome plant-based and cruelty-free alternative to petroleum-based paraffin wax and beeswax.
Are OKIO candles environmentally friendly?
Yes, they are. We use GMOs-free 100% natural soy wax in our candles, which is biodegradable. Unlike paraffin wax which is derived from petroleum, soy wax helps to minimize the environmental impact of candle disposal.
We also think beeswax is for the bees! Not environmentally friendly at all :{
And we use eco-friendly materials for our packaging.
Do soy candles burn longer than paraffin candles?
Yes. Soy candles have a lower melting point, which means they last longer than paraffin candles.
Are soy candles safe to use around pets and children?
Soy wax is a non-toxic substance, making it a safer choice for households with children or pets. Soy wax has also a lower melting point, reducing the risk of burns if accidentally touched.
Do soy candles produce strong scents?
Soy candles are known for their excellent scent, filling a room with fragrance more effectively.
Are OKIO candles hand-made?
Yes, OKIO candles are hand-made and hand-poured. We craft them in small batches to ensure higher quality and freshness.
Do soy candles emit harmful chemicals when burned?
Soy candles are free from toxins and harmful chemicals found in conventional candles. They burn cleaner and produce less soot compared to paraffin candles, for example.
We also use 100% cotton wicks in our candles, which are lead-free.
Are OKIO candles vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes, OKIO candles are vegan and cruelty-free, as they do not contain any animal-derived ingredients, any ingredients tested on animals or any ingredients belonging to animals. Beeswax is cruel!
CANDLE CARE
How should I care for my OKIO soy candle?
The first time you light your OKIO candle, please let it burn until the wax pool reaches the rim of the glass, to prevent tunnelling. To ensure optimal burning and longevity, also remember to trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use.
Should I keep the candle away from drafts or air vents?
Yes, it's important to place your soy candle away from drafts, air vents or fans to prevent
potential safety issues. Drafts can cause the flame to flicker excessively, also leading to uneven burning and scent throw.
Can I reuse or repurpose the candle container?
Absolutely! Our OKIO candles can be part of your zero-waste lifestyle when the glass containers are repurposed or recycled. Simply remove any remaining wax residue and wash the glass container with soap and warm water. Voila, ready to re-use!
How can I extinguish my soy candle safely?
To extinguish your soy candle safely, use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid extinguishing the candle by dipping the wick into the wax, as this can cause the wick to become misshapen and affect future burns. Ensure the candle is completely cool before moving it or relighting.
What should I do if my soy candle starts to produce black smoke?
If you notice black smoke coming from your soy candle, extinguish it immediately and trim the wick to 1/4 inch before relighting. Black smoke can indicate that the wick is too long or that the candle is burning in a drafty area. Trimming the wick and adjusting the candle's placement should resolve the issue.
I’ve spilled some soy candle wax on my table, what can I use to remove it?
Soy wax can be easily cleaned from surfaces and fabric using soap and warm water, making spilled wax less of a hassle.
Soy candles are also less likely to produce a black residue on walls or ceilings compared to paraffin candles.

Do you offer free shipping?
We offer standard free shipping on orders above £40 to UK customers only.

You can choose between the following options:
Royal Mail Tracked 48 - Expected to deliver within 2 to 3 working days
Royal Mail Tracked 24 - Expected to deliver within 1 to 2 working days
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we do offer international shipping. Shipping costs are calculated at check out.
What is your return policy?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your order for any reason, you may return it within 30 days. A refund will be issued accordingly. Please note that returned items must be in their original condition and packaging.
How do I initiate a return ?
To initiate a return, please log in into your account, go to the order that contains the item/s you’d like to return, and follow the instructions.
Are there any items that cannot be returned?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Who is responsible for return shipping costs?
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an error on our part or the item arrived damaged or defective. In such cases, we will provide a prepaid return label for your convenience.
How long does it take to process returns and issue refunds?
Once we receive your returned item, please allow 10 business days to process your return and issue the refund.

No, we do not have a minimum order requirement. You can purchase as few or as many items as you'd like.
